Current trends of state support for the agricultural sector in the USA and Canada from the standpoint of the World Trade Organization and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development were analyzed in the article. The influence of state financial regulation instruments on the agriculture is shown. The influence of different financial sources on the state of producers and consumers of agricultural products, financial flows between them and the budget system are summarized. Based on the analysis of the structure of support measures of agricultural production conclusions are made about the impact of the WTO on changes in agricultural policy in the United States and Canada. Proposals on how to use domestic support measures for the agrarian sector in Russia are given.
